French TV Distribution, the sales division of French public broadcaster France Television, has joined the slave drama “Unchained,” which is a global launch at Le Havre this year at Unfrance Rendez-vous.
“Unchained” was set in 1806 on Lenion Island in the Indian Ocean. There, a fatal cyclone triggered the Charles Bellvue plantation in abandoned.
In bankruptcy, he is forced to sell his land and slaves, and they fear being torn apart. In it, Isaac refuses to accept his fate. He discovers that Charles Bellevue is not only his master but also his father.
Supported by his anger and an insatiable desire for freedom, Isaac persuades Charles to maintain the plantation. Impressed by his determination, Charles appointed him as manager.
Now, Isaac must balance his new powers with his urge to protect his people. This series follows his efforts to walk this fine line.
This show was created by Alain Moreau. Alain Moreau wrote a six-part series with Adriana Barbato and Fanny Talmone and was produced by Tetra Media Fiction, part of Tetra Media Studio, a French production subsidiary of ITV.

Le Havre’s French TV Distribution lineup also includes the family thriller Vendetta, which will launch this year’s Rendez-Vous TV market.
The six-part series tells the story of a Corsican family that spans the present and present in the 1990s. Ant, a Parisian police officer of Corsican origin, was killed in revenge by his brother as a child – vowed to break the cycle of revenge that has plagued his family for generations. As he prepares to return to his hometown with his wife to take over the family vineyard, he is ambushed and remains in a coma. When he wakes up ten years later, he discovers that he is his son, Santu, now a teenager, and is obsessed with revenge.
“Vendetta” is produced by CPB Film from France 2.
Other new titles include the six-part thriller Danger in the Valley. Set in Salberac, a quiet village located in the sturdy Kaus region, the series follows the rebellious mayor’s efforts to stop the looming threat. As she fights to stop the project, she becomes a target of shadow threats.
“Danger in the Valley” is co-written by bestselling French author Michel Bussi and produced by Paris-based Cinétévé, co-produced by French television and Belgian Be-films.
