Anonymous content, the award-winning production and management company behind “Spotlight” and “Disclaimer,” was a hit in the layoff round. According to sources with knowledge of the cut, the company carves 15% of its staff in pink. The anonymous content has around 150 employees.
Layoffs will start on Wednesday, hit anonymous content at all departments and levels. Cuts will occur as the media business struggles with a sluggish advertising, a sluggish box office and belt-straining at major studios and streamers. Anonymous content previously received a round cut in 2023.
An anonymous content spokesman declined to comment.
Anonymous content was founded in 1999. The film’s credits list includes “Babel,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Clock Mind,” “Nickel Boys,” “Winter Bones,” “Stillwater,” “John Malkovich,” and “Swan Song.” “Spotlight” won the best photo statue at the 2015 Academy Awards.
On the fronts of television and streaming, anonymous lies behind shows and series such as “Nick,” “The Boy is Space,” “The Anatomy of Scandal,” “Shantaram,” “The Defense of Jacob,” “The Eye of Prize: The Holy Land,” and “Catch 22.”
Future projects include a miniseries adaptation of “East of Eden” and a new show based on “Prairie’s Little House.” Three of the films, “Christie,” “Balunist,” and “Orwell 2+2 = 5,” will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next month.
The list of clients for management of anonymous content includes Samuel L. Jackson, Alejandro G. Inaritu, Alfonso Quarron, Margaret Quarry, Todd Phillips, Joel Edgerton, Dee Reese, Rebecca Ferguson and Paul Dano.
