Denzel Washington will be in the films, but don’t expect him to see them.
In his recent sit-in with two of his lowest co-stars A$AP Rocky and film director Spike Lee in Washington GQ, he gave a surprising revelation about his film consumption.
“I’ve never seen the movie, man. I really don’t. I’m honest with you. I’m not watching the movie, I’m a guy,” the Oscar winner confessed, sparking laughs from $AP Rocky’s 36-year-old and Lee (68).
The actor repeated, “I don’t go to movies. I don’t watch movies.”

Washington said he thought, “Maybe I’m tired of the movie.” After Lee asked him how many films he made, Washington declared, “Too many. I think it’s 50.”
A minimum of 2 is Washington and Lee’s fifth film. The film stars Washington as a music mogul and is targeted by a ransom plot that puts him in a morally compromised position.
This is a “reinterpretation” of famous Japanese film director Kurosaki Benikira’s 1963 crime thriller “reinterpretation” but is set from Tokyo to New York City.
The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May (received Washington Honor d’or) and released in selected theatres on Friday, August 15th. Available on Apple TV+ from Friday, September 5th.
Despite his success, one thing Washington hasn’t focused on is awards like the Oscars. Washington won his first Oscar statue in 1990 for the film’s glory and won his second in 2002 on Training Day.

“I don’t do that for the Oscars. I really don’t care about that kind of thing. I’ve been with this for a long time, and there are times when I wasn’t supposed to win, I shouldn’t have won, I shouldn’t have won,” Washington appeared on Jake’s Take earlier this month.
“People give awards, God gives awards. I’m not that interested in Oscars. People say, ‘Well, where do you keep it?” “Next to the other.” I’m not bragging about it.
