Welcome to Silent Hill. Cineverse and Bloody’s disgust have announced the first trailer for “Return to Silent Hill,” the third live-action feature of Konami’s inventive horror video game franchise.
In the new footage, Jeremy Irvine plays James Sunderland, challenging the ghost town of Silent Hill, a burning building that passes through a dark corridor away from Killer Pyramid Head. Hannah Emily Anderson will also appear in the cast as Mary Crane.
“Return to Silent Hill” sees director Christopher Guns return to the franchise after helving the first “Silent Hill” film released in 2006.
Guns co-written with Sandra Voir and William Joseph Schneider with “Back to Silent Hill.” Cineverse shares that the new entry is intended as a “faithful adaptation of the video game “Silent Hill 2” released by Konami in 2001. After growing into a classic of the genre, the remake was released in 2024.
The “Silent Hill” franchise was first released on PlayStation in 1999 and produced three sequels over the next five years. Other entries and spinoffs continue, but their first run is considered among video game players as one of the most iconic and atmospheric achievements of survival horror titles.
“Return to Silent Hill” is produced by Victor Hadida from Davis Films, Molly Hassell and David Wulf from Hassell Free Production. The horror sequel sets for a theatrical release in January. Check out the new trailer below.
