Giuliana Rancic has slammed ex Jerry O’Connell for his “fuzzy” memories, days after he reflected on their 2004 breakup.
The 51-year-old entertainment reporter posted a light-hearted video of herself drinking cocktails on a boat on Instagram on Thursday.
“Have you all heard of it?” she asked her followers. “Apparently, my ex-boyfriend has started talking publicly about our breakup for the first time in 22 years. Hmm.”
The “Fashion Police” alum took a sip and added, “Just imagine. And his memory seems a little fuzzy.”
Rancic explained that she was “on vacation” and noted that her “emails have exploded” since O’Connell, 52, appeared on Kelly Ripa’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast on Monday.
The journalist, who dated the actor from 2003 to 2004, said she “could say a few words” and “wish him the best,” but decided to “just dig deeper and turn it into a 40-minute podcast.”
Rancic concluded, “Jerry, you’re very invited. I’d love to have you.”
Representatives for Mr. O’Connell did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Notably, Rancic wrote about their breakup in her 2015 memoir Going Off Script, and Ripa, 55, read passages from it to O’Connell while they sat down.
Rancic said O’Connell told her over the intercom, “No, I’m sorry, homegirl. Things have changed, but be careful, okay?”
Ms O’Connell could not “deny that[he]said that” and confessed to her ex, E, that he had been a “terrible boyfriend”. News personality.
“(Another woman) was inside my condo…(then) Giuliana Rancic tried to enter my condo,” he recalled. “Thankfully, the buzzers, the gates, the security. I paid a pretty high home ownership fee for these things. Cameras and everything else.
“I said, ‘I didn’t know you were coming. You can’t come here unannounced,'” O’Connell continued. “Keep in mind that no one had the keys. So the relationship was never like that. There was no warning. We didn’t want anyone to come in because we didn’t want a confrontation.”
The “Jerry Maguire” star dated Spice Girls member Geri Halliwell after Rancic before eventually marrying model Rebecca Romijn, but he did not reveal who was in his mansion at the time.
He did not reveal whether he and Rancic were exclusive, saying that their romance was “[already]in trouble” at this point.
O’Connell said he had made headlines for being a “fraudster” and was even called out by a corner store employee.
He and Rancic have since run into each other, with O’Connell describing how he repeatedly approached his ex at the gym as “funny” and “awkward”.
The former “Talk” co-host told Rancic that he “came up to her right away… nose to nose” and spoke about missing her in a “weird” voice, which he admitted “disturbed her a lot.”
