Bijou Phillips has made her first public appearance since receiving a much-needed kidney transplant.
The actress was out in Malibu, California, with her boyfriend, Jamie Mazur, on Sunday. In the photo obtained by Page Six, she wore a blue tank top, long denim pants and a large sun hat to combat the weekend’s heatwave.
Phillips, 46, was sitting outside enjoying a bottle of drink with Mazur, 56, who was wearing camouflage pants and a white T-shirt with a yellow smiley face on it. The “Almost Famous” star and the fashion businessman have been dating since 2024.
Phillips revealed on July 7 that he received a life-saving kidney transplant at UCLA while battling kidney disease. She posted a photo of herself at the hospital and praised her surgeon, Dr. Jeffrey Veal.
“He only cut the fascia! Since he didn’t cut the muscle, I didn’t need much pain medication, just Tylenol!” she wrote. “Five days after leaving the hospital, I still feel the same as I did four months after my last surgery!”
She also said, “I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who came to my rescue and those who checked in for donations. You are all heroes!”
Phillips received her first kidney transplant from a friend in 2017, but in February, Page Six learned her kidney was failing and she would need another kidney transplant.
Her representative later confirmed that she was hospitalized at UCLA Health’s CORE Kidney and undergoing dialysis while waiting for another donor, stating that “time was of the essence.”
The socialite asked for help from her social media followers in the same month, sharing photos from when she and her daughter Fianna were born.
“I need help finding a kidney,” she wrote. “I’m asking you as a friend, as a sister, as an aunt, and most importantly as a single mother of an incredibly brave daughter. I need a kidney.”
She revealed that she was born with underdeveloped kidneys and that although she spent “eight precious years being a mother to my daughter” with her first kidney transplant, she later experienced “many complications”.
“Please help me find a living donor so I can spend more time with my daughter, family and friends,” she wrote.
Phillips and ex-husband Danny Masterson welcomed Fianna, now 12, in February 2014. Fianna filed for divorce in September 2023 after Masterson, 50, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for two counts of rape.
She and the “That ’70s Show” alum were married for nearly 12 years before breaking up.
