Kevin Hart will explore the cold truths in his ice-bath interview show Cold as Balls, with six new episodes set to arrive on Netflix later this summer.
The new interview will be filmed live at Fanatics Fest in New York this week. Heart’s guests include Serena Williams, Rob Gronkowski, Cooper Flagg, Sean O’Malley, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and IShowSpeed.
The show features comedians getting up close and personal with famous athletes while soaking in ice-filled bathtubs, bringing an uncomfortable sense of comedic tension to the conversation. Even if you think “hot people”…it’s freezing cold.
Cold as Balls was launched in 2017 and has featured interviews with everyone from Tom Brady to Kelsey Plumb and Blake Griffin.
“Having ‘Cold as Balls’ coming to Netflix feels like coming home. It combines two of my favorite entities for unparalleled dialogue and content. I love that this show has continued to be a sports and entertainment extravaganza for 12 and 13 seasons,” Hart said in a statement. “We worked with Heartbeat and OBB to create an outlet for you to chat with top athletes in a relaxed and comfortable environment. This allows for conversations you won’t find anywhere else. When you record live at Fanatics Fest, more energy flows into the bathtub and you forget your balls are cold!”
“For more than 100 consecutive episodes, Kevin, OBB and Heartbeat have taken ‘Cold as Balls’ to a new level, filming with some of the biggest names in sports on the biggest stages for billions of viewers around the world,” said Michael D. Ratner, founder and CEO of OBB, a multimedia production company. “We couldn’t be more excited about the all-new season, filmed live at Fanatics Fest with six iconic athletes in partnership with Netflix.”
Jeff Clanagan, co-founder, president and chief distribution officer of Heartbeat, added, “For 13 seasons, ‘Cold as Balls’ has set the standard for sports comedy by combining elite athletes, authentic dialogue and Kevin Hart’s signature humor. We are excited to partner with Netflix as the series reaches new audiences and returns to Fanatics Fest for an unforgettable season.”
The series is directed by Ratner, who co-created it with Sean Spencer. Ratner will also serve as showrunner alongside Kfir Goldberg and executive produce alongside Scott Ratner, Goldberg, Clanagan, Tina Maher, Hart, Tyler Salter and Dave Becky. OBB is produced in partnership with Hartbeat.
