Actress Wai Ching-ho, who became famous for her role as Madame Gao in the Marvel movie series Daredevil, has died at the age of 82.
“I lost someone very special to me. She was one of the coolest people. I thought out loud. #Gao 🙏😔,” Daredevil co-star Peter Shinkoda posted on Instagram on Saturday, along with a pensive photo of himself.
In another Instagram post, the actor shared two photos of the actress who played Madame Gao, who also appeared in “The Defenders” and “Iron Fist.”
“I’ll never forget you,” he captioned a solo photo of the actress and a still of himself playing recurring villain Nobu Yoshioka opposite Ho’s Madame Gao.
“I learned from you every minute we were together on set and off. I know wisdom. I will continue to listen to your every word. See you soon, my friend. You were beautiful.”
On Sunday, actor Perry Yong, who co-starred with Ho in the 2018 film “High Resolution,” also spoke out about Ho’s death.
“This is a very emotional moment for all of us who knew Wai Ching-ho,” he began, before noting that the MCU actress “passed away peacefully two days ago after suffering a stroke.”
“I watched her perform on stage many times, we ate a lot of dim sum, and she came to see me many times at @slantperformancegroup,” he added.
“I had the great fortune of playing her husband (@justinchon’s parents) in the movie High Resolution.”
“Wai Ching was a kind and caring human being whose work as an artist elevated all works to a higher standard, and we are better for it,” he concluded his eulogy.
“Rest in strength, dear friend. 🙏🙏🙏.”
Fans expressed their condolences in the comment thread, with one person writing: “Her performance was so amazing and so memorable. My condolences and may she rest in peace.”
Another said: “She was absolutely amazing. Rest in peace Mrs. Gao,” while a third said: “She gave a truly legendary performance as Gao.”
A representative for the actress could not be reached for comment to Page Six.
In addition to her high-profile roles in the Marvel series, Ho is also known for voicing Grandma Wu in Pixar’s Turning Red and appearing in episodes of Awkwafina, Only Murders in the Building, and Law & Order.
