Selena Gomez has been in London for several weeks working on Season 6 of Only Murders in the Building. But ahead of tonight’s wedding rehearsal dinner for longtime friend Taylor Swift, the actress hopped on a plane and traveled more than 3,400 miles away to New York City. Gomez shared a video of herself on her way to the Madison Square Garden venue. She wore a black look with Fernando Jorge jewelry, including $29,000 earrings and an $11,000 ring.
Prior to this night, the actress was last seen in London on June 30th and was photographed filming a scene with Nicola Coughlan on June 29th.
Gomez was very active on social media today, sharing a message to her long-distance husband Benny Blanco. She also hinted at new product launches. (Her Rare Beauty account is similar, with promotions focused on the word “Wish.”)
Swift and Gomez have been friends for over 17 years. In September, Swift attended Gomez and Blanco’s wedding. She later spoke about how moved she was to see Gomez get married.
“Not only is she the most elegant and gorgeous bride, but I could see a vision of her that I had never seen before in my life,” she told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show in October. “I’ve never seen anything more beautiful than her on her wedding day. And she deserves this happiness. Benny – he is him. He’s so funny. He’s the best.”
She also acknowledged giving a speech at the event. “So I gave a speech, but I actually decided not to say anything about the engagement,” she said. “I don’t want anyone to think, ‘I know it’s a wedding, but I’m[engaged]!'” Well, I was like, don’t mention it. Maybe turn it (the ring), you know what I mean? Today is her day. We briefly teased about our outfits in 2008 when we met, but as you know, we were teenagers and 2008 was quite the year. So we talked a little bit about 2008, and I talked about how happy I was for her and how great it was to be a part of her life, but I didn’t talk about it as being about me. ”
