Nala Smith’s two-year-old daughter Wimsey Lou was diagnosed with cancer “late last year”.
The social media influencer shared the news on her Instagram Reels on Wednesday, starting with the realization that “it’s not easy to say or talk about.”
Nala explained that she and her husband, Lucky Blue Smith, “noticed something suspicious” in the toddler and took him to the emergency room, where staff “didn’t know what to make of it.”
But when Nala, 24, and model Nala, 28, took Wimsy to a pediatrician, he became “really calm and calm” and suggested he go to a children’s hospital.
“At that moment, my heart sank,” Nala recalled. “I don’t know if my gut told me something or if it was just my mom’s gut, but the first thing I thought was, ‘She has cancer.’
“After many x-rays, ultrasounds, and finally a biopsy, we got a call right away and were told she had cancer,” she continued. “(They) told me the disease was spreading and I needed to come in right away and start chemotherapy.”
Nala did not reveal Wimsey’s current health status, but said: “It’s been really hard to process this situation and get through all of this as a family.”
In particular, she and Lucky “loved and cared” for their other children, daughter Rumble Honey, 5, son Slim Easy, 4, and daughter Forney Golden, who was born in late 2025.
Lucky is also the father of an 8-year-old daughter named Gravity with ex Stormy Brie.
“I was often hospitalized with Wimsey, and it was really difficult to balance work and work,” Nala said. “Some days are a little bit easier and some days are really tough. All I can do is do my best and show up in the best way I can in all of those areas.”
Noting that she has been “posting a little less” lately, Nala said she hopes her social media uploads will bring “comfort and make them feel less alone” to those suffering similarly.
“We wanted to share this…we also wanted to motivate you to go get tested for something you’ve been avoiding,” she concluded.
Nala expressed her feelings in the video’s caption: “Thank you to each and every nurse and doctor who helped me get through (them) and out the other end on my journey 🤍.”

He and Nala have been dating since 2019, got engaged in the same year, and tied the knot in February 2020.
Rumble and Slim were born in October 2020 and January 2022, respectively, followed by Wimsey in April 2024.
