Studiocanal reveals sales of multiple Cannes Market titles

Studio Canal has announced that it has ended sales of several films that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival or that the company plans to develop and produce, including “Midnight Library.” The company also said it is negotiating pre-sales for the new Paddington animated film.

Midnight Library, starring and produced by Academy Award nominee Florence Pugh, has emerged as one of the hottest titles at this year’s Cannes Film Market. After a bidding war between studios, the film was sold to Paramount Pictures for North America and numerous international territories.

Outside of Paramount’s jurisdiction, “The Midnight Library” is distributed by Scanbox in Scandinavia, Sun Africa Group/MultiChoice in South Africa and Filmcoopi in Switzerland. Studiocanal plans to release the film across its territory, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Benelux, Australia and New Zealand.

Studio Canal also produced Rudy Rosenberg’s Un Certain Regard film Words of Love, Volker Schlöndorff’s The Visitation, Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Violette, and the Cannes Competition. Jeanne Herry’s Another Day, Simon Stone’s Elsinore, Jonathan Shay’s Everybody Wants to Fuck Me, and Danny Boyle’s Ink have been signed on. and Fred Cabaye’s Les Misérables. Studiocanal releases films within its jurisdiction.

The sales status of the film is as follows.
