Tarek and Heather El Moussa felt “violated” after a suspect broke into their Southern California home while on vacation.
The reality star’s Newport Beach home was broken into earlier this week while she was vacationing in Mexico with her family.
Authorities confirmed to Fox News Digital that they responded to a report of a residential burglary near the Mariners Community on June 8 after 6 p.m.
“While the victim was away, unknown suspects entered the backyard of the property, shattered the rear sliding glass door and entered the home,” officials told Fox News Digital.
“The suspects ransacked the master bedroom closet inside the residence before fleeing through the backyard, along the side of the house, and out into the front yard.”
A house flipping expert reported jewelry stolen from a residence.
Police believe the home invasion occurred sometime between the early hours of June 6th and June 8th.
The Newport Beach Police Department has not currently identified any suspects in this case.
Representatives for Tarek and Heather did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
The couple reacted to the incident on social media on Tuesday.
“I’m tired of the cruel and heartless people in this world,” Heather wrote on her Instagram Story, tagging her husband.
“Both Tarek and I feel violated and it’s honestly very sad. I’m taking a few days off, but I’ll be right back to explain.”
She added: “We are safe and our children are safe.”
The couple welcomed son Tristan in January 2023. Tarek was previously married to fellow HGTV star Christina Haak for seven years, and their divorce was finalized in 2018.
The two co-parent two children, daughter Taylor and son Brayden, and co-starred on HGTV’s “The Flip Off” after their divorce.
