Selena Gomez revealed on Instagram today that her hair has turned red. Selena has been filming Only Murders in the Building in London and teased that the changes will be part of the upcoming season. This is the most dramatic hair change since she went platinum blonde in 2021.
Selena Gomez is currently filming Season 6 of Only Murders in the Building in London, and although she hasn’t revealed any plot details, she did reveal on Instagram that her character Mabel’s hairstyle has changed drastically.
The actress shared photos from her time in the UK this morning, including a selfie and video of herself with copper-colored curls. This is the first time she has had red hair.
“While I was in love with London, something crazy happened with @onlymurdershulu 💕,” she captioned the post.
It’s unclear whether Gomez’s hair change is permanent or just a wig, but it marks her most dramatic color change since she went platinum blonde in April 2021.
By September of that year, she was back to brunette, reminiscing about her blonde days.
“So I recently went blonde and had the best time,” she told Vogue. “I definitely felt more in character when I was blonde. I felt like I could do some crazy looks with my hair. It was really fun to try new things with makeup. I think it was hard to keep up for a little while, but I don’t know. I didn’t, but I felt so cool and edgy. It was a whole phase that I went through. I’m not going to lie, ‘Blonde Selena’ is not gone forever, I can tell you that. ”
Gomez began filming “Only Murders in the Building” last month. She celebrated the start of production with a shot with the cast, including lead co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.
