Kyle Cook revealed that he had broken up with Amanda Batula on the same day they publicly announced their separation, putting a hole in his dating schedule with West Wilson.
“There’s a lot of conspiracy theories that we broke up, but we did it together in front of the cameras. We broke up the day we released the statement,” Cook admitted during Part 2 of the “Summer House” season 10 reunion.
He also claimed that the couple did not discuss ending their marriage until they wrote their statement on January 19th, which was posted the same day.
Additionally, the Loverboy founder claimed that he was “urged” to issue a statement by his now estranged wife before telling his family about the decision.
Ms Batula accepted Mr Cooke’s explanation was correct, but said things turned out the way they did because at that point she had “already made up her mind” about their relationship, even if Mr Cooke had not.
“I decided to break up with him on New Year’s Day and you know what happened,” she told her ex-lover.
But the latest revelations could prove that Wilson and Batula’s “connection” blossomed before Cook ended it for good, as co-star Ciara Miller spotted the pair hanging out two days before releasing their joint statement.
In Part 1 of the shocking reunion, Miller revealed that she began questioning the nature of Batula and Wilson’s relationship on January 17th when she discovered the location of her ex-friend’s iPhone was in her ex-boyfriend’s apartment.
The model explained that she asked Batula to have drinks with castmate Mia Calabrese, but he ignored her, which she thought was strange.
She then checks where Batula is and finds that he is at Wilson’s house.
The model was reading one of the text exchanges about rumors surrounding Batula and Wilson’s relationship during Part 1 of the reunion, which aired last Tuesday, when her ex-best friend had already been caught on camera telling some pretty damning lies.
In particular, Cooke accused Batula of having an “emotional relationship” with Wilson in a scene from In the City filmed on April 9, which she flatly denied.
Batula and Wilson remained in the spotlight for much of the Summer House season 10 reunion, but Part 2 also shed light on the end of Cook and Batula’s marriage.
The South Moon Under founder said the “nail in the coffin” for her was that she woke up on New Year’s Day to find Cook staying at a hotel in Hoboken while she spent the night alone in her apartment.
The former couple began dating during the first season of ‘Summer House’ in 2016. They got married in September 2021.
After going public with their secret romance in March, Batula and Wilson were forced to reveal the timeline of their relationship for their castmates and viewers, ultimately confessing that they had lied about the nature of their situation.
The new lovers also faced an onslaught of negative comments from cast members, namely Miller, over the lie.
At one point, Miller even told the pair that she thought Batula would be a great fit for Wilson because she was “not going to check anything on him.”
“She’s very quiet. She’s going to be the vulnerability he needs, and he can always be the star of the relationship,” Miller said.
Part 3 of the ‘Summer House’ Season 10 reunion will air on June 9th.
