The Gotham Television Awards ceremony, held Monday night at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan, was an important step as Hollywood inches closer to September’s Emmy Awards.

Netflix led the way with 22 nominations heading into the night, but it was HBO Max that took home the most trophies with five. Netflix took home the silver award with three wins, followed by Hulu, making it the only other platform to win multiple awards.

HBO Max’s “DTF St. Louis” was the only show to win multiple awards. This suburban mystery won Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Limited or Anthology Series for David Harbour.

The platform had another big winner in Rachel Sennott’s irreverent comedy “I Love LA,” which won the Breakthrough Comedy Series award. The remaining series award, “Breakthrough Drama Series,” went to Apple TV’s “Pluribus,” from “Breaking Bad” mastermind Vince Gilligan.

On the acting front, Tim Robinson won the award for Outstanding Lead in a Comedy Series for HBO Max’s The Chair Company. The supporting comedy award went to Laurie Metcalfe for her performance in Netflix’s The Big Mistake.

“Witness” star Chase Infinity won for best actor in a drama series, and her supporting actor award went to Babu Sesay, who won for FX’s “Alien: Earth.”

Finally, in the limited series or anthology category, Michael Shannon won the Best Actor race for his role as President James A. Garfield in Netflix’s historical drama “Death by Lightning.”
