Tim Curry returns in expanded role in Stream 2: Sudden Death

Tim Curry returns in an expanded role in Stream 2: Sudden Death.

The sequel is being produced by Fuzz on the Lens Productions, the same team behind “Terrifier 2,” “Terrifier 3” and “Screamboat.” The script was written by “Impractical Jokers” star Brian “Q” Quinn and longtime “Impractical Jokers” producer Joe Invergio. The director is Michael Levy, who directed the previous film.

Curry appeared briefly in Stream, but will play a more prominent role in the sequel. Returning cast members include David Howard Thornton (The Terrifier) and Damien Maffei (The Strangers). Stream 2 will also see the return of original Art the Clown actor Mike Giannelli, who is coming out of retirement for the film.

Curry’s film credits include “The Rocky Horror Show,” “Clue” and “Congo.” On television, he played Pennywise in Stephen King’s “IT” miniseries.

“Tim Curry is a figure who has influenced generations of horror fans and filmmakers alike,” Levy said. “From the beginning, we envisioned his character as part of a larger story within the Stream universe. The first film only scratched the surface, and we’re excited to bring him back in a bigger role that we think audiences will really respond to.”

“Having the opportunity to work with Tim Curry was already surreal, but knowing where this story was going made it even more special,” said “Stream 2” producer Jason Levy. “His appearance in the original film was designed to plant the seeds for something bigger, and with Stream 2: Sudden Death, we can finally begin to pull back the curtain on a bigger scale.”

Released in 2024, Stream blends traditional slasher elements and practical gore with modern themes revolving around technology and voyeurism. It’s currently available to watch for free on Tubi and Amazon Prime Video, DVD and Blu-ray, and other major platforms.

Additional casting and production announcements are expected in the coming months.
