Ted McGinley said he has a “whole pile” of balance checks, each totaling one penny.
The 67-year-old actor’s career has spanned decades, but he earned a modest income from roles in a number of TV shows, including Happy Days, The Love Boat, and most notably his role as Jefferson Darcy on seven seasons of Marriage with Children.
In a recent interview with Page Six, Mr McGinley explained that Remainers are “resigning, but ultimately it’s not going to be that big”.
Ted McGinley told Page Six he has a stack of checks at his home. Page 6
Nevertheless, years of working in the 70s, 80s, and 90s tell us that “I’ve always earned residuals.”
McGinley admits that while he doesn’t go out of his way to cash a penny check, he doesn’t really like tossing out small checks.
“Maybe $2,” he said with a laugh, estimating the minimum amount he would deposit.
“$1.89, ongoing!” he exclaimed.
The “Revenge of the Nerds” star currently stars opposite Harrison Ford in the Apple+ series “Shrinking.”
“I never dreamed I would get a shot like this,” he said. “I always remember doing movies and things like that and thinking, ‘What would it be like? If I wanted to know what it would be like to play opposite literally the biggest movie star in the world, like Harrison Ford, I’d give it a go. What would it be like?'”
McGinley says it’s even better than he imagined.
“That’s amazing,” he exclaimed. “This was that gift. It was an opportunity to just watch,” he said, adding that he realized that Ford was kind to everyone on set and “made you feel at ease. He was there to do a job.”
McGinley still seems a little surprised to be appearing on the show alongside Jason Segel, Christa Miller, Michael Urie, and Brett Goldstein.
“I never thought I’d be on a show like this,” he admitted. “I am very honored to be able to participate.”
