Kyle Cook and West Wilson have “made a big move” after having a three-hour conversation about his romance with Cook’s estranged wife, Amanda Batula.
“I’m not going to say that[the situation]is good,” Wilson clarified on Tuesday’s episode of his and Sophie Cunningham’s “Show Me Something” podcast. “Well, nothing is perfect right now.”
Despite this, the sports journalist said he was “glad” to be able to sit down.
“The beginning was obviously awkward and weird, but… it wasn’t a gunfight,” Wilson told listeners. “It was so calm and peaceful. (We) were listening to each other and trying to get to a better place.”
The reality TV star doesn’t know if the tough conversation will air on “Summer House” or the Bravo show’s spinoff, “In the City.”
According to Wilson, he told Cooke before the talk, “I’m not trying to build a better relationship with you for this shitty show. I value you as a friend. There’s no need to film this.”
Wilson said it was Cook’s decision to chat on camera as the scandal became public.
“I’m really grateful that he did that,” Wilson continued. “One, to be heard, two, to be kind about it, and three, to end it there, because it was a much better environment to say it all than the reunion.”
Wilson admitted the reunion, filmed last month, didn’t turn out “great” for her.
The 31-year-old also teased that the three-part reunion, which begins Tuesday night, was “not at all peaceful,” but that his castmates were able to “get everything out of their system” and be “honest.”
Elsewhere on the podcast, Wilson responded to ex-girlfriend and Batula’s former best friend Ciara Miller’s angry reaction to their bombshell romance, which was confirmed in March.
“At the end of the summer, (Miller and I) were canooding again, (but) I told Ben (Waddell) that I wasn’t going to be his boyfriend,” he said. “I think this is still a shock to the establishment and people feel betrayed. I’m not trying to convince anyone that their feelings don’t matter.”
At last week’s In the City premiere, Cook questioned whether Batula and Wilson were married and had an “emotional relationship” while filming Season 10.
Mr Batula, who announced his separation from Mr Cook in January, strongly denied the accusations.
While Mr. Cook appears to be on track to forgive both Mr. Batula and Mr. West, Mr. Miller recently made it clear that he wants to cut ties with both of them permanently.
In a recent interview with People magazine, when asked if she and Batula were “Dunzo,” Miller pointedly replied, “Yeah, for sure.”
“I couldn’t do this to my worst enemy,” she added.
Batula and Wilson exposed their secret romance in March, blinding the entire “Summer House” cast.
An explosive trailer for the Season 10 reunion showed the entire staff slamming the new couple for their secrecy and betrayal.
“Summer House” Season 10 Reunion Part 1 airs Tuesdays at 8pm ET on Bravo.
