Kathy Griffin’s recent health scare was no laughing matter.
The comedian, who calls himself “TMI,” told his followers in an Instagram post on Thursday that he “spent the night in the hospital due to complications from a colonoscopy.”
“I know it’s very sexy, but right now I’m home with my dogs and it’s my place,” Griffin, 65, added.
The second slide of the carousel included a smiling selfie of the famous red-headed comic.
Griffin captioned the post: “Not-so-tech-savvy update.”
Followers quickly flocked to the comments section to share their wishes for the reality star.
One person wrote: “I hope you’re feeling better ❤️,” while another chimed in: “I’m glad you’re okay! We need your wit and truth now more than ever!”
Concluding the sweet message, another social media user wrote: “Glad you’re home. Get well soon ❤️.”
The “Suddenly Susan” actress has never shied away from sharing her life with her fans.
In August 2021, ABC’s “Nightline” aired a sit-down interview with Griffin in which she detailed her past addiction to prescription drugs.
The Emmy Award winner also spoke about reaching a breaking point in early 2020 when her suicidal thoughts became “obsessive.”
“I started to really convince myself that this was a good decision,” she confessed. “I sorted out a revocable living trust. I got all my ducks in a row. I wrote notes. Everything.”
At the time, Griffin also revealed on social media that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer, even though he had never smoked.
“I am scheduled to undergo surgery to remove half of my left lung,” she shared on social media.
By December 2021, Griffin announced that she was “cancer-free.”
The “My Life on the D-List” alum said that her voice also changed a little after the surgery.
“It’ll heal, but I’m kind of enjoying it,” Griffin elaborated. “I think I’m two octaves higher…I think it’s higher than Mariah Carey.”
In another post, she reflected on her journey so far, writing: “Honestly, this cancer surgery went a little better than I expected.”
Griffin recalled that the last time she was hospitalized was when she attempted suicide and “overdose on prescription drugs.”
However, the former “Fashion Police” co-host praised herself for how far she has come.
“I’ve been drug-free and clean for over a year, so now I know I can do this and anything I want to do without the devil’s medicine,” Griffin said. “Really? I’m more scared of drugs and addiction than I am of cancer. So I think it’s okay.”
