Spoiler alert: This story contains spoilers for the final episode of “Survivor 50.”
“Survivor” revived the time-honoured tradition of the cast reuniting for a live finale in the studio on Wednesday night, where Aubrey Bracco was announced as the winner of “Season 50: In the Hands of the Fans.”
After learning that Bracco would take home the $2 million prize, host Jeff Probst announced that Cirie Fields had won the fan-favorite $100,000 prize sponsored by Cyre.
Probst then cued up footage for Season 51, which will be released this fall. Titled “The Open Era,” the season’s design draws heavily from “Survivor” history. Every twist and benefit that “Survivor” introduced so far will work again.
On stage, Probst laughed and said the idea behind “Open Era” was that “anything that happened on the show at any time could happen in any season, in any order, without any warning.” He added that season 51 has already been filmed and is “a lot of fun.”
The news caps a landmark season of “Survivor,” which has been hosted by Probst since 2000. As reported in Variety’s recent cover story on the show, the show has been consumed over 50 seasons and more than 700 billion minutes, or more than 1.3 million years. Streaming viewership for Season 50 is up 45% compared to the 49th season, and after 35 days of streaming, Season 50 episodes are averaging nearly 10 million viewers, making it the most-watched reality series of the 2025-26 television season and 12th among all broadcast series.
