Princess Diana’s brother Charles Spencer married his fourth wife, Kat German, on Friday.
The 61-year-old and the 43-year-old archaeologist tied the knot in Arizona, People magazine reported four days after the wedding.
In a joint statement on Tuesday, the newlyweds gushed: “We both feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to move on from co-workership to friendship to deep love and connection.”
The pair went on to announce their relationship in 2024, adding: “Every stage of our relationship has been fueled by laughter and we share a passion for life.”
The pair met in 2021 after Spencer reviewed his current partner’s book, River Kings, and later co-hosted the podcast Rabbit Hole Detectives.
At the time, he was married to Karen Spencer. In December 2024, Spencer accused Charles of cheating on her with German in explosive court documents.
She was specifically defending in the High Court against German’s claims that she had misused personal information.
The 53-year-old, who accused Charles of breaking up their relationship over text, said Charles was “indifferent and deliberately provocative” during their “brutal and inexplicable” breakup.
However, Jarman and Charles denied any “long-term affair”.
The latter told the Daily Mail in November 2024 that she “wasn’t even thinking about romance” while they were friends with Jarman, but insisted the relationship didn’t become “something else” until early that year.
“You know, it’s nice to be with someone so… nice,” he gushed into the outlet. “I don’t mean to disparage anyone, but Kat is completely different from anyone I’ve ever been with.”
He and Karen married in June 2011 and welcomed one child, daughter Charlotte, 13, while together.
The former couple’s divorce was finalized in December 2025.
Before Karen, Charles was married to Caroline Freud from 2001 to 2007.
He and the public relations specialist, 59, are parents to son Edmund “Ned” (22) and daughter Lara (20).
Charles also had children with his first wife Victoria Aitken, whom he was married to from 1989 to 1997.
They have a daughter, Kitty (35), twins Katia and Eliza (33), and a son, Louis (32).
As for Kat, she has two sons with ex-husband Tom German.
