Huh, seems difficult?
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe reunited on Friday at son Deacon’s New York University graduation.
In photos obtained by Page Six, the former lovers were all smiles as they posed for a photo with the graduates after the ceremony at Radio City Music Hall.
Witherspoon, 50, stunned in a blue midi dress that she teamed with a white blazer, cream handbag and heels. Philip, 51, was wearing a white button-down shirt, black pants and Nike sneakers.
The former couple, who were married from 1999 to 2008, have daughters Deacon, 22, and Ava, 26, who was also in attendance on their big day.
Witherspoon’s other ex-husband, Jim Toth, also attended the graduation ceremony with her 13-year-old son, Tennessee.
Kate Hudson’s eldest son Ryder Robinson also graduated from the prestigious university on Friday.
Hudson and her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, were pictured with their daughter Lani at her graduation ceremony. Hudson’s mother, Goldie Hawn, and longtime partner Kurt Russell were also spotted.
At one point, Russell was seen chatting and hugging Witherspoon.
The “Legally Blonde” star and the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” actor have continued to amicably co-parent their two children over the years.
In fact, Phillippe gushed about how “hot” he and Witherspoon were in a playful Instagram Story post in 2024.
“We were hot and drenched in late 90s angst,” he wrote before tagging his ex-wife in a snap from the 2001 film Legally Blonde premiere. “(It’s a much cooler time than today.)”
The two met at Witherspoon’s 21st birthday party in 1997, and two years later they were cast together in Cruel Intentions.
They reunited at several milestones, including Deacon’s “homeschool graduation” in 2022.
In April 2023, the couple celebrated their youngest son’s burgeoning music career, with Phillip sharing a series of snaps from Deacon’s album release party, which Witherspoon also attended.
“What a great night celebrating the release of @deaconphillippe’s ‘A New Earth’ with family and friends,” the proud dad wrote at the time.
After their divorce, Witherspoon and Phillippe welcomed other children with their respective partners.
The Oscar winner married Toth in 2011 and welcomed Tennessee during their time together before divorcing in 2023.
As for Philip, he has a 14-year-old daughter, Kai, with ex Alexis Knapp.
