Taking a cue from Bravo’s wildly popular fan event BravoCon, TLC has launched a multi-day event for the passionate audience surrounding the “90 Day Fiancé” series.
According to a press release issued during WBD’s Upfront presentation to advertisers on Wednesday, “WBD continues to expand its strongest franchises beyond traditional programming, in addition to strong new and returning series. Building on the tremendous popularity of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé, the company announced 90 Day Con, a multi-day fan event aimed at extending the franchise beyond the screen and deepening viewer engagement throughout the year.”
According to the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned cable channel, the 90 Day Con event “will be an immersive experience that brings together the franchise’s most passionate superfans and familiar faces from the 90 Day universe, offering premium opportunities for exclusive behind-the-scenes access, panels, fan experiences, social expansion, and brand integration.”
WBD says 90 Day Con emphasizes “strategies that transform fan-driven IP into multi-platform engagement engines, delivering meaningful connections to viewers and high-impact value to advertisers.”
“90 Day Fiancé” is produced for TLC by Sharp Entertainment, part of Sony Pictures Television – Nonfiction.
The fan convention was announced at Upfront along with several new shows from WBD’s suite of cable channels, including Discovery Channel’s new Shark Week special “KPop Shark Heroes” featuring actor and comedian Ken Jeong and Grammy-nominated artist REI AMI. The biggest home cooking competition in Food Network history, “100 Cooks,” hosted by Terry Crews, and a new tournament, “Wildcard Kitchen: High Rollers at Seas.” HGTV’s short-term rental rescue series Roast My Rental, hosted by Leslie Jones. and Game Day Murders, a new true crime documentary series from Investigation Discovery (ID) producer Shaquille O’Neal (wt).
In addition to the many new cable titles promoted during the upfront, the previously announced Season 9 of “Rick and Morty” and spinoff “President Curtis,” Discovery Channel’s “How to Catch a Dirtbag,” “Escape from Alcatraz,” “Most Dangerous Prey: Northern Edge,” Food Network’s “Cooking with Choy,” “Chopped Castaway” and “Food Network’s Top 10”, HGTV ‘Battle on the Beach’, ‘Crashers’, ‘Love It or List It’, new seasons of ‘America’s Scariest House’, ID’s ‘The Life of Benjamin Kyle’, ‘Leathly Blonde’, Magnolia Network’s ‘Main Cabin Masters’, ‘Lakefront Bargain Hunt Renovation’, OWN’s ‘Heart & Hustle: Houston’, ‘Love and Marriage: Huntsville’, ‘The Bell’ Collective,” “Iyanla Specials,” the new season of “Impractical Jokers” on TBS, and “High Value Target” on TNT.
