Billie Eilish appeared on the May 5 episode of the podcast Good Hang with Amy Poehler. During her appearance on the show, she reflected on her teenage self and explained that she has no intention of working in cosmetics in the future. Her decision stems from her desire for her future children to recognize her for who she is.
Billie Eilish plans to embrace her natural beauty as she ages, and as she revealed on the May 5 episode of the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast, she plans to forego cosmetic surgery on her face.
“I’m so excited to get older and I’m so excited that my face and body will stay the same as I get older, you know? And I want my kids to look at me and have my face look like theirs, and not be a failed version of what’s going on out there,” the “Birds of a Feather” singer told the Parks and Recreation star.
Eilish also reflected on her teenage self in an interview, saying that she never expected her personality to evolve beyond her teenage years, but later learned that this belief was falsified as she got older. “I never thought I wouldn’t be a teenager,” she told Poehler. “I remember being 17 and thinking, ‘Okay, now I’m a forever person.’ And obviously that’s not going to work out.”
Eilish has previously made her stance on cosmetic surgery clear, telling the Guardian in 2021: “I have no problem working. I do this, I do that, I do what makes me happy.”
The problem with pop stars when it comes to people getting cosmetic surgery is that they tend to lie about it. “It’s when you deny it and say, ‘Oh, I got this all on my own and if you just tried harder, you should be able to get it too.’ It literally infuriates me,” she added. “It’s very unfortunate for young women and for young boys to see that.”
Eilish also explained to the Guardian that trying to conform to society’s standards can be difficult. “If you always stand a certain way, walk a certain way, always do your hair the same way… it’s a huge loss to always try to look good,” she added. “That’s a huge loss of pleasure and freedom in your body.”
