Apple Martin graduated from college with flying colors.
“Bittersweet moment. How lucky we are to have memories like this ❤️,” she captioned an Instagram post celebrating her graduation from Vanderbilt University.
Under her cap and gown, Ms. Martin, 21, wore a white Vivenne Westwood cotton dress ($1,020) and black ballet flats with tiny heels.
Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter was born in London and lived across the pond until her parents “consciously separated” in 2014, so the designer’s choice seemed like the perfect nod to her British roots.
Although not all graduates participate in this tradition, wearing white has long been a symbol of new beginnings.
Photos include Martin lying on a leather couch, modeling in a library, posing with a close friend in a cap and gown and various white dresses, and posing around the university with friends.
Everyone was coordinating with black sunglasses.
Martin’s plans after graduation have not yet been revealed, but she has already begun to make a name for herself as a model.
She is the face of British label Self-Portrait, posed solo for Vogue, and appeared in her mother Paltrow’s GapStudio campaign.
It remains to be seen what the “Marty Supreme” actress wore to watch her eldest son finish out his college career.
