The video game streamer is scarier than ever thanks to a new gaming psychological thriller that adds a new scary troll to the mix.
Streamer, the new film from writer-director Justin Hughes, has added four players to its cast, Variety has confirmed. Freddie Piazza (short film “Overdew” and independent stage productions “Faith Divided” and “Nine Circles”), Rachel Alig (“Misstake” and “Found Footage”), Francesca Lowe (microdramas “Playing It Real” and “Broken Queen”) and KC Wolf (“Yesterday”) are attached to the film, which is scheduled to shoot in Los Angeles and Ventura this spring.
According to the official logline, “The story follows Teddy (Piazza), a popular but divisive internet streamer, who becomes embroiled in a dangerous cat-and-mouse game with a mysterious troll with a vendetta against him.”
This film marks Hughes’ feature debut. Previously, he published short works such as “A Curious View” and “Where Does the Maiden Lie?” ” and “Fractal Chaos” have been screened at film festivals across the United States, including the Catalina Film Festival, the Big Apple Film Festival, and the LA Shorts International Film Festival.
Casey Krehbiel is producing the film through his company Blue Bow Tie Productions. CSA’s Jamie Gallagher is co-producer and casting director for Streamer.
In addition to his acting work, Piazza has developed a social media presence by showcasing his journey moving from North Carolina to Los Angeles to pursue acting. His fan base has grown to 1 million followers on TikTok and 100,000 followers on Instagram.
