Amy Lou Wood proved she’s good when it comes to jokes as she took a jab at her SNL teeth fiasco before hosting SNL UK on Saturday.
In a teaser for the upcoming episode released Wednesday, the “White Lotus” star, 32, walks up to a group of cast members who cover their mouths suspiciously.
“I can’t wait to get started, especially after the dental ‘incident’ in America. So just wiping a clean slate will make me feel better,” she said in the clip.
“Wait a minute, why is everyone covering their mouths?” she asked. “By the way, do you all wear dentures?”
The group quickly denied the accusations, fearing that the comedians would offend the actress. But Wood wasn’t having it.
“Wow, is this some big setup to humiliate me? I thought, ‘SNL UK will be different,’ and I was wrong,” she shot back.
Finally, one of the jokesters revealed that “they all grew nice big mustaches” to resemble co-star Paddy Young, who has garnered attention for his facial hair.
They concluded the sketch by giving Wood his own mustache and then hugging.
Fans of the original sketch comedy show may remember a sketch from an April 2025 episode featuring comedian Sarah Sherman. Wood was a little upset.
The sketch was a pre-recorded parody of “White Lotus,” starring Sherman as a parody version of Wood’s character Chelsea, wearing enlarged false teeth and sporting an exaggerated British accent.
“Fluoride? What is that?” she joked, clearly making a wise crack about the actress’ real teeth.
Wood slammed the sketch in a rant she shared to her Instagram Stories the next morning.
“I thought the ‘SNL’ thing was mean and unfunny. (I may delete it later because I felt it was justice),” she wrote at the time. “It’s such a shame because I watched it a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it.”
“Yes, get angry, sure. That’s what this show is about. But there has to be a smarter, more subtle, less cheap way, right?”
Ms. Wood later revealed that “SNL” apologized to her for the sketch. However, a source later claimed that the show had not issued a “formal apology” to the star.
