Al Pacino and Beverly D’Angelo may have broken up in 2004, but that didn’t stop them from celebrating the “Godfather” star’s 86th birthday together.
The former couple was spotted out and about in Beverly Hills on Friday night, the night before Pacino’s big day.
D’Angelo, 74, kept it casual in black pants and a beige blazer, accessorizing with a colorful scarf and gold sunglasses.
The “National Lampoon’s Vacation” star carried a tan leather handbag and finished off her look with comfortable sneakers for the outing.
Meanwhile, the “Scarface” icon wore a navy blue jacket with black pants and sneakers. He completed the ensemble with round sunglasses, a scarf, and a beanie cap.
The former couple are parents to adult twins Anton and Olivia, 25, who were born through IVF in 2001 during a relationship that lasted from 1996 to 2004.
“In 1997, he looked me in the eye and said, ‘I want you to be the mother of my children.’ I had avoided that role all my life, but I was deeply in love and 100 percent into it,” D’Angelo said in a 2023 Instagram video.
While she admitted that their breakup was “complicated,” she also emphasized that their dedication to their children triumphed.
“Hey, things got complicated and in 2004 our separation was made official,” she said, adding, “The power of love for our children resolved our conflict and became the basis for building a new history as parent and child.”
“As for me and Al, the unique and deep friendship between our two artists continues through the highs and lows even after 27 years of working our way. And that is over,” she told her followers at the time.
In 2023, the whole family was spotted enjoying an outing, with Pacino and D’Angelo taking the then-22-year-old twins to an escape room in Los Angeles.
D’Angelo has remained single since their split, but Pacino has daughter Julie Marie, 36, with ex-girlfriend Jean Tarrant, and son Roman, 2, with ex-partner Noor Alfallah.
