Partnership between Türkiye’s OGM Pictures and Spain’s Grupo Ganga Forge

Turkish production giant OGM Pictures has entered into a strategic partnership with Grupo Ganga, the renowned Spanish production company that produced Spain’s longest-running prime-time television series “Remember When.”

Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on developing scripted projects in Turkey and Spain, “with an initial focus on building a suite of co-produced series for terrestrial broadcasters and global streaming platforms,” the statement said.

For OGM, which has made a name for itself since its launch in 2019 thanks to a production portfolio consisting of the popular Netflix series The Gift, The Taylor and Paper Lives, the deal with Grupo Ganga follows the recent launch of an international division called OGM Pictures, which aims to strengthen the company’s global ambitions through strategic partnerships.

In January, OGM hired Verna Levin, a longtime Yellowbird executive, to head overseas production, and her producing credits include The Playlist, Young Wallander, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Last year, OGM Pictures partnered with Fremantle-owned companies Wildside and The Apartment and Italian indie Fandango to produce the Turkish version of the internationally acclaimed series My Brilliant Friend, an adaptation of the Italian novel by Elena Ferrante, which is currently in advanced scripting stages.

The partnership between the Turkish and Spanish companies, both major players in the global television market, includes “both the adaptation of existing formats from each company’s catalog and the production of original content tailored to international audiences,” the statement said.

“This collaboration is rooted in a shared ambition to fuse unique narrative sensibilities and production approaches to create stories that feel locally authentic yet internationally scalable,” it added.

“Bringing together different storytelling traditions creates new opportunities to create multi-layered and compelling stories. Our collaboration with Grupo Ganga reflects our ambition to develop stories that reach across borders while staying true to our roots,” OGM Pictures CEO Onur Guvenatham said in a statement.

Miguel Angel Bernardo, founder and general manager of Grupo Ganga, commented: “This union is not just an addition to our team, but a doubling of our creative capabilities. Partnering with OGM Pictures puts us in a privileged position to tackle larger projects and international complexities.”

Apart from the record-breaking ‘Remember When’, Grupo Ganga has also worked on hit films and dramas such as ‘UCO’, ‘Desaparecida’ and ‘HIT’.
