Reese Witherspoon is once again advising her followers that there’s never been a better time than now to learn about and start using artificial intelligence in their daily lives and workplaces.
“The Morning Show” star took to Instagram on Wednesday to double down on her previous statements that women need to get used to AI tools.
“Well… I decided it was time. The AI revolution has begun and I need to learn as much as I can about AI and share it with you,” she wrote. Also see: Even though jobs held by women are three times more likely to be automated by AI, women are on average 25% less likely to use AI than men. We don’t want to be left behind. So…would you like to learn with me? ”
Actress Kerry Washington also commented on the post, writing, “This is it.” However, other commenters were less optimistic, citing concerns about the technology’s impact on the environment and the impact data centers have on local communities.
Some commenters speculated that her upbeat advice sounded like the launch of some kind of AI-powered company or service.
This is not the first time she has raised the issue as an important skill for women to acquire to avoid being left behind in the workplace.
“It’s really important for women to be involved in AI, because AI is the future of filmmaking,” Witherspoon told Glamor magazine in September. “And you can be sad and mourn all you want, but change is here. There will never be a lack of creativity and ingenuity and actually putting things together by hand. It may be diminished, but it will always remain paramount in art and self-expression.”
She also told Glamor that she uses AI Assistant as well as search tools such as Perplexity and AI shopping agency Vetted AI.
Variety has reached out to Witherspoon for further comment.
