Carrie Underwood is known for her generosity.
The “American Idol” contestant revealed Monday that the superstar judge gifted her with Tiffany jewelry and a handwritten note congratulating her on making it to the top 11 on the reality singing competition.
“I never thought my first Tiffany jewelry would be Carrie Underwood,” Hannah Harper wrote on Facebook, along with a crying emoji.
“But really, what I was most drawn to was the handwritten note. It meant more than anything. Just that she took the time to do that… it says everything about who she is. You guys, she’s as down-to-earth and honest as anyone. Just a good, kind human being. I love her so much,” Harper wrote.
Harper shared a photo of the Tiffany package and a note from Underwood, congratulating her: “From the first time I saw you and heard your story and voice, I knew you were special.”
She added that women and mothers around the world relate to Harper’s story and call her an “inspiration.”
During her audition for “American Idol,” the aspiring singer sang an original song about her struggle with postpartum depression.
“You’re like my favorite person,” Underwood told Harper before singing. “You’re wearing homemade clothes. You’re singing a song called ‘String Cheese.'”
Harper emotionally explained that she wrote “String Cheese” after the birth of her youngest son, who is now one year old.
“And my youngest son was just having a pity party, praying that the Lord would calm my heart.” And my son kept coming up to me and saying, “Hey, mom, open this.” Please open my cheese. ”
And after she opened his string cheese, she realized that God had put her in that position: “Home was the greatest act of service that I could do as a mother, so I got up off the couch and stopped throwing pity parties, and I realized that was exactly what I wanted.”
She added: “I was so overcome with postpartum depression that I said, ‘I’m not doing that.'”
Underwood began crying as Harper sang, calling “String Cheese” “the most relatable song I’ve ever heard.”
Later, before being told she would be heading to Hollywood to continue competing, Underwood added: “You might be my favorite person to walk through that door in the last three days. You’re so gorgeous and you look like someone who’s already famous. I think your voice just has a beautiful earthiness to it.”
The “Before He Cheats” singer added that she will be thinking about Harper and the next song she plans to sing in the competition.
“I feel like I’m just rooting for you,” she admitted. “I loved everything you did.”
