“My 600 Pound Life” star Dolly Martinez has died at the age of 30.
Martinez’s sister, Lindsey Cooper, announced the sad news on Facebook on Saturday.
“Dolly had the most upbeat personality who could brighten up any room with her laughter, kindness and loving spirit,” Cooper wrote. “She had a way of making everyone feel special, and her warmth will stay with us forever.”
“Our hearts are broken here, but we are comforted by the knowledge that she is reunited with her father in heaven. I can only imagine the joy of that reunion,” she continued.
“Rest in Peace, Dolly. You will always be loved, missed and never forgotten.
”
The cause of death was not disclosed, but Cooper said his sister had been in the hospital the day before “fighting for her life.”
Martinez appeared on season 10 of TLC’s “My 600-Lb. Life,” which chronicled her struggle with food addiction.
She was on supplemental oxygen and also suffered from mental health issues.
Although Martinez was not approved for weight-loss surgery at the end of the episode, he lost 40 pounds from his 593-pound weight.
“My 600 Pound Life” follows one year in the life of a morbidly obese person. Sadly, multiple people who appeared on the reality series have passed away.
Fast forward to June 2023, and Larry Meyers Jr. passed away three days after celebrating his 49th birthday.
Meyers Jr., who gained attention for singing “Mr. Buttermilk Biscuit” at a chicken restaurant, has died of a heart attack.
