Offset kept a low profile while attending a glamorous yacht party in Miami hours before he was shot.
CC Rooftop Social Club owner CC Waknine exclusively told Page Six that the Migos rapper was partying on her and her husband Hai Waknine’s boat just after 3 a.m. Monday.
When asked if Offset was acting out of the ordinary, CC said, “He was quiet, but no, he seemed totally fine.”
The Miami mogul recalled that the “Walk It Talk It” artist was taking pictures with her and her friends.
“(He) was taking video and everything seemed normal,” CC shared.
As for whether there was adequate security around Offset, CC said she didn’t think it was “out of the ordinary.”
“He had a lot of people with him,” she added, noting that Rich the Kid was also in attendance.
CC shared that Offset is scheduled to perform at her nightclub, Baccarat Miami, this Wednesday. However, CC said there was “no way” he would be able to take the stage any time soon due to his injuries from the gunshot wound.
“But he’s fine,” she assured us, adding that her husband has been in contact with Offset since the incident.
However, CC believes Offset may have experienced some trauma after Migos’ late Takeoff was tragically shot and killed in 2022.
“We’re really lucky that guy got away,” CC said of Offset’s shooter.
CC and her husband know Offset very well. Because Offset has performed at her venue several times. Just last week, he performed a set at his daughter’s bat mitzvah party.
Offset, 34, was shot Monday night near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
“We can confirm that Offset was shot and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. He is stable and being closely monitored,” a representative for the rapper said at the time.
Local authorities said the incident occurred in a valet area just after 7 p.m., and “injured non-life-threatening injuries that were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.”
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephas, was reportedly seen taking pictures with fans near the Hard Rock’s valet area shortly before the shooting.
Rapper Lil Tjay was arrested in connection with the incident, according to arrest records obtained by Page Six. He was booked into the Broward County Jail and charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
Police said “the incident started as a dispute or fight,” and said a second person involved was “detained” but not charged. Tejay’s attorney, Dawn Florio, denied that her client had anything to do with the shooting.
“Lil Tjay was not shot, and Lil Tjay has not been charged with the shooting. Reports to the contrary are false,” the lawyer said in a statement, adding: “Before reflexively sharing or repeating unsubstantiated rumors, we encourage you to refer to reliable news sources and verify the accuracy of reports.”
Offset, who was shot in the leg, was taken to a nearby hospital. The next day, he was photographed sitting in a wheelchair smoking a cigarette outside a medical facility.
