Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco started the 2026 awards season with a date at the Golden Globes ceremony, but the newlyweds aren’t among the stars at tonight’s Oscars. The actress has no eligible film projects this year and is not a presenter. She teased her weekend activities on her Instagram Stories, sharing selfies and shots from a Rare Beauty promotion in New York City.
Gomez is still having an exciting awards season. Gomez’s series “Only Murders in the Building” was nominated for the Golden Globe Award and Actor Award, which honors achievements in both television and film. She and Blanco also attended last year’s Academy Awards, where Gomez’s film Emilia Perez was nominated.

Blanco and Gomez tied the knot at the end of September, and made their awards ceremony debut as a married couple at the Golden Globe Awards in January. They were there looking lovingly at each other as they posed for pictures.
In November, Gomez shared her first impressions of her marriage to Zane Lowe in an interview with Apple Music. Lowe told Gomez that once you find the right person for you, life gets better and better.
“I can definitely agree with that,” she said. She said that marrying Blanco “has been such a dream so far and I know there will be ups and downs, but Blanco is the most beautiful person I could make it happen to.”
Ahead of her wedding in August, Gomez told Jake Shane at Therapuss that she was confident she had found her perfect match for the swing. “I’ve never been so sure about anything, and I don’t want to jinx it by saying that,” she admitted.
She talked about how she and the music producer went from working acquaintances to friends and eventually a couple.
She had been working on the song “Single Soon” in 2023, but “it wasn’t our favorite,” she told Shane. “I can tell you this because I’m married to him. It really wasn’t what I wanted. So he came over and we were like, ‘Hello, Benny,’ and we talked for two hours. I asked him to go out with anyone he knew that was cute, and he was like, ‘Oh, we’re doing this, come over for this dinner night,’ and before we knew it, we were dating.”
She added that she had some apprehensions about the swings at first. “At first he was scared. People were going to be mad because it’s a job and it’s a combination of that. And I was like, ‘I don’t care. Kiss me.'”
