Anne Hathaway takes the runway to the red carpet.
The actress looked like Hollywood royalty on the 2026 Oscars red carpet in a black Valentino haute couture dress with stunning floral embroidery all over.
The mermaid silhouette, secured by a wide black belt, showed off her hourglass figure, and the star added opera-length black velvet gloves.
The design is likely a reference to on-screen boss Miranda Priestly’s famous “groundbreaking” quip when she is presented with “spring flowers” in the 2008 film.
Hathaway wore her hair in an elegant half-up style and accessorized with Bvlgari jewelry as she debuted the brand’s new Ecletica collection. The actress shined wearing a diamond bib necklace and oversized drop diamond earrings.
Her necklace is surrounded by pear, round, and step-cut diamonds, replacing the 8.02 carat pear-cut Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond. The total carat weight of her sparkling necklace was over 35 carats.
Hathaway’s light-catching earrings and ring were matched with a stunning necklace that also featured yellow and white diamonds.
Her choice to wear Valentino was fitting, as she is a long-time supporter of the brand and a close personal friend of the late designer, who recently passed away in January.
Hathaway, 43, presented costume design and make-up awards at tonight’s ceremony at the Dolby Theater, alongside Priestley’s famous inspiration Anna Wintour. And she will reportedly have a special “The Devil Wears Prada 2” reunion with co-stars Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt.
The fashionable film will be released in theaters on May 1st, and will see Hathaway return as Andy Sachs, and Streep and Blunt reprising their roles as Runway editor-in-chief Priestley and Emily Charlton.
Who won’t come back? Adrian Grenier, who plays Hathaway’s on-screen boyfriend, told Page Six that “backlash” towards his character Nate was the reason he was removed from the sequel.
The trio first teased the upcoming sequel at the 2024 SAG Awards, where Hathaway took her dedication a step further by wearing a teal Atelier Versace dress as an homage to one of the most famous scenes from the 2006 original film.
While celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Devil Wears Prada, this is the first time Hathaway has attended the Academy Awards in more than a decade. She last appeared in 2014 wearing a Gucci halter neck embellished with a crystal bodice.
In 2013, she won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as Fantine in Les Misérables, almost forgetting that she co-hosted alongside James Franco in 2011, which the newspaper described as “the worst of all time”.
