“Fast and Furious” star Jordana Brewster is rushing to star in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming series “Bishop.” In the thriller for Prime Video, Brewster will play Kat Clairborne, described as a “veteran” inspector with the San Francisco Police Department.
Brewster joins a cast that includes Joel Kinnaman, John Malkovich, and Jennifer Jason Leigh, who was announced earlier this week as Malkovich’s sister Gillian Graves.
“Bishop” was released on Prime Video last September. The series, an original idea from co-creators Little Marvin (Them) and Tony Saltzman (Dexter: Resurrection), centers on Bishop, who is described as “intelligent and battle-scarred,” as his search for an elusive killer targeting San Francisco’s wealthy communities puts all of his skills to the test. As this increasingly emboldened murderer gains a cult following among the city’s helpless people, Bishop becomes convinced that these murders are connected to something. The most powerful man in science fiction, his own father, Lincoln Graves. ”
Brewster’s recent television credits include FX’s “American Crime Story,” as well as Fox’s “Lethal Weapon,” TNT’s “Dallas” and ABC’s “Secrets and Lies.” On the film front, she will next be seen in the indie film The Pirate King, co-starring Annabeth Gish and Rob Riggle, which will premiere at the SXSW festival in Austin next week. She also recently appeared in Sony’s “Heart Eyes” and Lionsgate’s thriller “Cellar Door.”
Brewster is perhaps best known for his role in the hugely successful Fast and Furious series, appearing in seven of the ten films.
Little Marvin, who has an overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios, will serve as showrunner in addition to co-creator and executive producer, with Saltzman also serving as co-creator and EP. Roy Lee will also serve as an executive producer in addition to writing the screenplay, similar to Vertigo’s Miri Yun. The film will be produced by Amazon MGM Studios, which has an overall contract with Little Marvin.
Mr. Brewster is repped by Anonymous Content, CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
