NBC’s “The Hunting Party” has tracked down a truly diverse cast of guest stars for its second season, including a “Glee” kid, a ventriloquist, one of the men who broke Carrie Bradshaw’s heart and a “Coyote Ugly” alum.
In addition to star Melissa Roxburgh, Season 2 of The Hunting Party also stars Piper Perabo (Butterflies, Coyote Ugly), Kevin McHale (Glee, American Horror Stories), John Corbett (Sex and the City, My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and ventriloquist comedian Jeff Dunham. Their roles are:
In episode 209 (April 9), Perabo plays Colette Akins. “A woman who grew up working in her father’s family business, a funeral home. As a result of chemical exposure, Colette developed an auditory psychosis that led her to become a serial killer. Now on the run from The Pit, she longs for the comfort of a certain voice…and will do anything to find it.”
McHale will appear as Dylan Miles in episode 211 (April 23). “A struggling ventriloquist who has never learned how to deal with hecklers other than by killing them. Now, back from the pit and armed with his beloved figures, Dylan sets out for revenge and leaves a lasting mark on the comedy world.” And in the same episode, Dunham plays the victim, Jeff Dudley. He is “the unfortunate target of Dylan Miles, a star in the ventriloquist world and a failed ventriloquist who escapes from the pit.”
And in the Season 2 finale (Episode 213, May 7), Corbett will appear as Xander Wax. “A serial poisoner with unpredictable patterns and non-traditional methods. He is also of special interest to Colonel Lazarus, and will push our team to uncover the inner workings of her mysterious plans.”
In “The Hunting Party,” Roxburgh plays Rebecca “Bex” Henderson, a former FBI profiler who is now part of an investigative team tasked with finding a dangerous serial killer who has escaped from the top-secret government prison, “The Pit.”
Patrick Sabonghi, Josh McKenzie, and Sara Garcia also star in the series from creator JJ Bailey. Bailey and Jake Coburn are co-showrunners and EP producers, Thor Freudenthal is executive producer and director, and Michael Jones Morales is writer and executive producer. The studio is Universal Television, a division of Universal Studios Group.
