“Tyler Perry’s The Oval” star Nick Barotta has signed with Untitled Entertainment.
The New York native is best known for his role as Alan on the BET drama The Oval, where he was promoted to series regular in 2021. He has filmed over 100 episodes over the show’s six seasons.
“The Oval” is a political drama melodrama about the inner workings of the First Family and the White House. Season 7 is scheduled to air later this year. Perry wrote all episodes and directed most.
In 2025, Barotta was cast in Perry’s feature film Duplicity, which reached number one worldwide on Prime Video. Barotta played the role of “Sam” in the courtroom drama about Marley (Kat Graham), a skilled lawyer who is tasked with solving the shooting death of her friend’s husband.
Barotta’s credits also include Divorce Court, where he served as bailiff and court reporter for two seasons starting in 2018, alongside the show’s longest-serving judge, Judge Lynne Toler.
Before diving into acting, Barotta worked in entertainment journalism at Entertainment Tonight. Celebuzz and The Wrap have interviewed celebrities including John Legend, Cole Kardashian, Jordin Sparks, Heidi Klum and Taraji P. Henson. He hosted The Wrap’s interview series “Drinking with the Stars.”
Barotta’s modeling career included campaigns with Perry Ellis, New Balance, and Muscle Farm.
