Sidney Sweeney is absent from a group photo shoot with the female cast members of Euphoria in a new trailer for the show, but Page Six is said to have nothing to do with the alleged feud between Zendaya and Sweeney.
HBO Max on Wednesday released a short teaser for the show’s third season, which will be released on April 12, and featured behind-the-scenes footage of the cast.
At the beginning of the clip, Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow were seen laughing and posing together for a photo, but Sweeney was noticeably absent.
Sweeney appeared in the teaser, but it was a solo shot of her smiling.
Jacob Elordi also appeared briefly in the video.
The video was captioned, “Capturing the smallest moments and dreaming for bigger things. #Euphoria.”
The photoshoot in question happened to be taken during production, when Sweeney happened to be filming, so she is not included in the video.
The Daily Mail reported in November 2025 that Sweeney and Zendaya were “engaging in a bitter feud” due to differences in political views.
Sweeney, a registered Republican voter, caused controversy with American Eagle’s denim campaign, which some critics denounced as Nazi propaganda with racist overtones.
Zendaya reportedly refused to do press interviews with Sweeney, and the two reportedly refused to stand next to each other at events.
Fans noted that Sweeney wasn’t in the group shot of the new teaser, with one Instagram comment reading, “They really said they wouldn’t do a group shot with her 😂.”
Another comment read: “Omg I’m crazy that Sydney isn’t in the group shot of the girls ❤️.”
“Less is more in Sydney 🥰,” another user opined.
Sweeney addressed her “MAGA Barbie” nickname in January.
“I’ve never come here to talk about politics,” she told Cosmopolitan. “I’ve always been here to make art, so this is not a conversation I want to be at the forefront of.”
“And I think that’s why people want to take it even further and use me as their pawn,” she continued. “But it’s someone assigning something to me, so I can’t control it.”
Mr Sweeney insisted he was not a “hateful” person and said there was “no chance” when it came to addressing political issues about himself.
“I have to continue to be who I am, because I know who I am,” she said. “I can’t make everyone love me. I know what I stand for.”
