Hulu has released the official trailer for the “Malcolm in the Middle” revival, scheduled to be released on April 10th.

The four-episode limited series, officially titled “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,” will feature nearly all of the original show’s main cast returning. The revival stars Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Jane Kaczmarek as his mother Lois, Bryan Cranston as his father Hal, Chris Masterson as his eldest brother Francis, Justin Barfield as his brother Reese, and Emmy Coligado as Francis’ wife Piama.

As previously announced, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will take over the role of Malcolm’s brother Dewey, played by Eric Per Sullivan in the original show. New cast members include Keeley Kirsten as Malcolm’s daughter Leah, Kiana Madeira as his girlfriend Tristan, and Vaughan Murray as Hal and Lois’ youngest son Kelly, whose pregnancy is revealed in the series finale.

According to the new show’s logline, “After more than a decade of protecting himself and his daughter from his family, Malcolm is once again drawn into their orbit when Hal and Lois demand that he attend their 40th anniversary party.”

Original creator Linwood Boomer will return as writer and executive producer of the new version of the series. Cranston, KatCo’s Tracy Katsky and Gail Berman and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehman will also serve as executive producers.

Ken Kwapis will direct all four episodes and serve as executive producer. Jimmy Simmons and Laura Delahaye will serve as co-executive producers. The series is an offshoot of Disney Branded Television and produced by 20th Television.

The revival was officially announced in December 2024. “Malcolm in the Middle” originally aired on Fox for seven seasons and 151 episodes from 2000 to 2006, receiving 33 Emmy nominations and ultimately winning seven awards.

The entire “Malcolm in the Middle” series is currently streaming on Hulu and on Disney+ for bundle subscribers.
