Rosanna Arquette fiercely defended her friend Daryl Hannah after his portrayal of “Bulls” in the movie Love Story.
“I love Daryl Hannah,” the “Pulp Fiction” star wrote on Instagram Sunday alongside a photo with her fellow actress.
“Her portrayal in streaming productions is bullshit. Her love with John F. Kennedy Jr. was real and it was his happiest time. Ask his family, but no one did.”
Arquette, 66, described Hannah, 65, as “a wonderful woman, a wonderful actor, writer, director and environmental activist.”
“She’s also an animal whisperer,” she added. “Her work in the world has been amazing.”
The actress rushed to her friend’s defense after Hannah slammed the Ryan Murphy-produced series,wThe show featured Kennedy Jr.’s on-again, off-again marriages from 1988 to 1994, before he dated Carolyn Bessette.
In an essay for the New York Times, Dree Hemingway’s Hannah accused the film of exploitation, saying, “[The film]features a character who uses my name and represents her as me.”
The “Wall Street” star shared that she was portrayed as “frustrated, self-absorbed, and whining,” and claimed the show was not a “remotely accurate representation of[her]life,[her]actions, or[her]relationship with John.”
The director also claims he never used cocaine or pressured anyone into marriage, adding: “I have never planted any stories in the press. I have never compared the death of Jacqueline Onassis to the death of a dog.”
“I have also received many hostile and even threatening messages from viewers who believe this depiction to be true,” Hanna claimed.
The “Kill Bill: Vol. 1” star’s relationship with Kennedy Jr. officially ended in 1994 with the death of her beloved dog and late lawyer mother Jackie Onassis.
Kennedy Jr. was walking his dog in New York City when he was hit by a car.
The politician is said to have been “deeply resentful” of Hanna when he forced her to fly from New York to California to attend his dog’s funeral while Onassis was dying of cancer.
After Kennedy Jr. split from Hannah in 1994, he began dating Bessette and they married two years later. The couple and Bessette’s sister Lauren died in a plane crash in 1999.
As for Hannah, she married rocker Neil Young in 2018.
