The upcoming film version of “The Odyssey” will be on a grand scale, and director Christopher Nolan seems to have maintained a high level of concentration on set to achieve that vision.
Logan Marshall-Green, who has appeared in films such as “Prometheus” and “Upgrade,” and is one of the stars of the new “Yellowstone” spinoff series “The Marshalls,” will play an as-yet-undisclosed role in “The Odyssey.” He spoke to Variety about Nolan’s power as a director and how everyone on set, from his frequent A-list co-stars like Anne Hathaway to the craftsmen, followed Nolan’s work ethic.
“He’s Christopher Nolan, and he’s working from the moment he walks on set,” Marshall Green said. “And never turn your back on the ocean, or it will crush you. I couldn’t have had a better experience filming ‘The Odyssey.'” Being surrounded by such talented artists in every department, it all starts with Chris, and he never stops working. That’s why I never stop working. I took my cues from the actors who worked with him, like Anne. Anne played the role perfectly, and in one scene we shot, the camera didn’t see her for three days. It all begins and ends with Chris, and what he expects from himself is what he expects from others. I loved his process. I would love to do it again soon. ”
“Odyssey” is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 17th. The cast includes Matt Damon, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron.
