Huh, intern?

Variety reports that Chelsea Handler is developing “Townhouse,” a comedy about a “drifted” reality star who fails in her relationship with her daughter, for Hulu.

And Page Six has learned that the show was written by Sonya Morgan, a former intern of Real Housewives of New York City star Sonya Morgan, who worked at Morgan’s townhouse.

However, while this inference may be unflattering, it is said that Morgan was little more than a vague inspiration for this character.

A source said, “Sonya is hardly depressed. She is certainly not estranged from her daughter. Sonja and Quincy have a great relationship.”

We hear that writer Zoe Young worked with Morgan on the final season of Bravo in 2021, appearing in three episodes.

The cabaret star’s intern had a recurring role on the show.

Morgan, for reasons unknown, concocts the staff by having them perform all sorts of odd jobs, from filling the bathtub with water (while keeping her in) to cleansing the house of unwanted auras.

Page Six also reports that the show was written by a former intern of Real Housewives of New York City star Sonya Morgan (pictured) who worked at Morgan’s townhouse. Marion Curtis / StarPix for Sony Pictures

Her townhouse, on the other hand, was also a trademark of the era when popular stars appeared on reality TV shows.

Several seasons depicted her struggle to unload her five-story mansion on the Upper East Side.

Variety reports that Young is currently a 2025 graduate of USC’s Writing for Screen & Television MFA program, and that Handler will executive produce and possibly star in the show.

The studio, 20th Television, added that the show tells the story of “a fallen reality star and her live-in hench of outcasts as they try to rebuild her image and reboot her career.”
