Victoria Jones’ cause of death has been revealed.
Actor Tommy Lee Jones’ daughter died from the toxic effects of cocaine, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in San Francisco, California, told Page Six.
Her death was ruled an “accident.”
People were the first to report the news.
Victoria was found unresponsive on the 14th floor of the Fairmont San Francisco Hotel in California in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.
“We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred at our hotel on January 1, 2026,” a representative for the hotel told Page Six in a statement. “We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time. The hotel team is actively cooperating and supporting the law enforcement authorities within the framework of the ongoing investigation.”
The person initially believed Victoria had passed out due to intoxication and alerted hotel staff.
However, Victoria was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics arrived at around 2:52 a.m. local time. She was 34 years old.
On January 1, a fire department spokesperson confirmed to Page Six that “CPR instructions were given to the bystander in accordance with CAD records.”
San Francisco police officials told the Daily Mail they arrived at the hotel at 3:14 a.m.
Police said at the time that no foul play was suspected and no drug paraphernalia was found at the scene. There was also no indication that her death was a suicide.
It is unclear whether Victoria, who lived in San Antonio, Texas, was a guest at the hotel or how she got to the 14th floor.
However, the audio provided further insight into the possible cause of death, as the call from authorities was code 3 for “overdose, color change.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, an overdose with a “color change” usually refers to cyanosis, which is “a discoloration of the skin, lips, and nails caused by a lack of oxygen in the blood.”
Representatives for Tommy Lee, 79, could not be reached for comment.
Before her death, Victoria briefly appeared as an actress in her father’s films Men in Black II, 2005’s The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, and 2014’s The Homesman.
Although she took a break from her Hollywood career, she supported her father on several red carpets.
There have also been several run-ins with the law in Victoria. She was arrested at least twice in 2025, according to court documents obtained by PageSix.
In April, she was handcuffed and pleaded not guilty to interfering with a peace officer, use/under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance.
She was arrested again in June on charges of domestic violence and domestic violence/elder abuse, to which she also pleaded not guilty.
Additionally, Victoria was arrested in June 2011 in San Antonio, Texas, on suspicion of theft between $50 and $500, but the charges were later dismissed, according to court records.
