“America’s Next Top Model” alum Tiffany Richardson has eviscerated host Tyra Banks of more than 20 years after the two had a heated feud on the reality show.
As fans of the show may remember, Banks infamously yelled “we were all rooting for you” to her aspiring model on Cycle 4, a moment Banks admits “went too far” in Netflix’s bombshell new documentary about the show.
Richardson slammed the 52-year-old supermodel in a recent Instagram post, calling her a “lying piece of shit.”
“Do you know how you treated me all this time off and in front of the camera, you were a bully!!!” Richardson claimed. “You treated me badly and said the worst things about me and my son.”
The former contestant claimed that their discussion was “edited” to make it look like Banks “cared” about her.
“F–K you @tyrabanks I bet you won’t sit across from me and talk about it!!!” Richardson continued, before slamming her family for never “defending” her.
Richardson, who has been working with mentally ill people in a group home in Miami since 2017, said she also “makes more money and helps more people than all and many of the top models.”
“Damn, it’s embarrassing. You still hate black asses,” she added. “Leave @tyrabanks alone, it’s been over 20 years 😭.”
Richardson’s post included a clip of their heated fight on the show.
In the Netflix documentary series Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, Banks reflected on her role in the pair’s “acrimonious” argument.
“I went too far. You see, I messed up,” the “Large Than Life” actress admitted. “It was probably bigger than her. It was family, friends, society, black girls, all the challenges that we have. So many people said we weren’t good enough. I think it was everything in that moment.”
“It’s a Black woman’s story that is close to my heart, but I knew it was going too far,” Banks added.
Jay Manuel, the show’s creative director, also called the incident “the most difficult moment on set I’ve ever experienced.”
He also claimed that “the production staff literally just took Tyra off the set” after filming wrapped.
“Actually a lot more was said,” Manuel said. “And some of the things that were said were not really well-intentioned. I’ll probably never repeat the lines that were said in that room that day.”
Former ANTM judge and runway coach Miss J. Alexander called the fight “very scary” and said a lawyer was on the scene the following week.
In a 2017 interview with Buzzfeed, Richardson claimed that Banks’ verbal caning was actually “1,000 times worse.”
The “Coyote Ugly” actress also claimed that during the rant she was told: “You can go home and sleep on the mattress on the floor with your baby.”
“It was just a total mess,” Richardson said, reflecting on the game. “It went too far for no reason.”
“Reality Check: America’s Next Top Model” is now available on Netflix.
