Crunchyroll is ramping up its investment in Thailand with the launch of a Thai user interface and significant expansion of localized anime content.

The anime platform currently offers over 500 titles to Thai subscribers, of which over 70 are dubbed in Thai and over 300 with Thai subtitles. The company aims to strengthen its position in one of Southeast Asia’s most robust anime markets, and this rollout will add more than 70 new titles to the service, consisting of 26 Thai dubbing and 44 Thai subtitled additional products.

The service is available for the Fan tier from 99 baht ($3.15) per month or 799 baht ($25.50) per year, while the Mega Fan plan costs 119 baht ($3.80) per month or 999 baht ($31.80) per year.

Crunchyroll is currently simulcasting over 40 winter seasons in Thai localization, including “Jujutsu Kaisen” Season 3, “Free Ren: Beyond the End” Season 2, “Fire Force” Season 3, “Declaration to Become a Hero” and “The Demon King’s Daughter is Too Kind!!” and “The Days of a 29-Year-Old Adventurer.”

The expansion comes after Crunchyroll reported a 50% year-over-year increase in viewership from Thailand, which ranks fourth in the world for anime engagement. The market’s appetite for anime theatrical releases was proven last year when “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugenjou” became the highest-grossing anime film of all time in Japan.

The streamer plans to continue expanding its Thai language offering throughout 2026, with 147 more subtitled and dubbed titles planned, as well as 19 more catalog titles for Thai dubbing. Crunchyroll plans to offer approximately 772 anime titles in Thailand by July, 228 of which will have Thai dubbing, representing an approximately 50% increase in its overall content library.

To support this launch, Crunchyroll is introducing the “Choose Unordinary” brand campaign in Thailand, featuring a hand-drawn creative rendition of the original character Hime.

“Thailand is one of the most passionate and fastest growing anime markets in Southeast Asia,” said Rahul Plini, president of Crunchyroll. “With a Thai language interface, a significant increase in Thai dubbed and subtitled content, and faster access to simulcast and localized dubbing, we will make it easier for fans to experience anime in their own language every week.”

The company will also be participating in Bangkok’s anime and Japanese pop culture festival Animonium 2026, which will be held at Siam Paragon Hall from February 6th to 8th, and will be the official sponsor of the event’s live music concert.

Crunchyroll is an independently operated joint venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Aniplex, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment (Japan).
