The Kelly Clarkson Show is coming to an end after seven seasons.
Kelly Clarkson announced on Monday, February 2nd that this season would be her last, explaining the reasons for her retirement in a statement posted to her Instagram account.
Clarkson, 43, wrote, “I was very fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people on The Kelly Clarkson Show in Los Angeles and New York.” “There have been so many great moments and shows over the past seven seasons, and we are forever grateful and honored to have worked with the best band and crew you could ask for, all the talented and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our shows, and NBC, who has always been a supportive and great partner.”
Clarkson went on to say the decision will allow her to “prioritize” her children. “This was not an easy decision to make, but this season will be my last as host of The Kelly Clarkson Show,” she wrote. “Taking a break from our daily schedules allows us to prioritize our children, which feels necessary and right for the next chapter of our lives.”
The end of The Kelly Clarkson Show comes months after the host, musician’s ex-husband and talent manager Brandon Blackstock, died of cancer in August. Clarkson has daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remington Alexander, 9, with her late ex-husband.
