Celebrities used the 2026 Grammy Awards to take a stand. Several attendees, including Billie Eilish, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kehlani, and Joni Mitchell, wore “ICE Out” pins to denounce the recent actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
Many people used speeches to make statements. When Kehlani accepted the award for Best R&B Performance for “Fold,” she spoke about the power of community. “What I want to say is that everyone in this room is so powerful,” she said, according to Billboard. “And together, we’re stronger in terms of the number of people who can speak out against all the injustices that are happening in the world right now. So instead of it just being a few people here and there, I hope that we can come together as a community of artists and speak out against what’s going on.”
And she wasn’t the only one to slam ICE during her speech. Bad Bunny did the same when he won Best Music Urbana Album at Devi Tilal Mas Fotos. He began saying “ICE Out” and added, “We are not savages, we are not animals, we are not aliens. We are human beings, we are Americans. … Hate grows stronger the more hate there is. The only thing stronger than hate is love. So please, we need to be different. If we’re going to fight, we need to do it with love.”
