Sidney Sweeney is giving fans a rare insight into her “very private” relationship with ex Jonathan Davino.
“I was in a relationship for a very long time, seven and a half years, and we never talked about it. I was very private,” Sweeney, 28, told Cosmopolitan in an interview published Thursday.
“Nobody’s going to look at us. I think it’s important to have something for ourselves.”
The “Euphoria” actress got engaged to Davino in March 2022, but they called off the engagement and separated in March 2025.
Sources told Us Weekly at the time that the former couple had “major issues” in their relationship, which led to their breakup.
The “Anyone But You” star was reportedly “very busy” with her work schedule and “couldn’t handle the stress” of planning a wedding.
By May, Sweeney, who recently launched her new lingerie line, Syrn, said she was “loving” the single life.
“I’m learning a lot about myself and spending more time with my friends, and I’m loving it,” Sweeney told The Sunday Times at the time, confirming their relationship status.
Elsewhere in the Cosmopolitan interview, the “Housemaid” star revealed a list of attributes she looks for in her ideal man.
“He’s athletic, sociable, and funny. I’m a sports-loving girl, so I need someone with whom I can climb mountains and go skydiving. And someone who loves his family. I love myself as a man…” she explained.
“Look, I’m the boss of life. I’m in charge. I go after what I want. I’m confident and successful. In fact, I don’t need a man. I have myself. I have an incredible group of girlfriends. I have a team of badass women. That’s very intimidating to a lot of guys. So a guy needs to be able to face it with me.”
“I need a very specific person who can handle the world that comes my way. I had a guy that I really, really liked, but he said he couldn’t handle the world that came my way. It’s hard.”
Sweeney has since bounced back from her breakup with Scooter Braun, 44, and seems to be to the actress’ liking.
The two were spotted going on several adventures together after they were discovered dating during a trip to Italy in August last year.
Last November, the couple was spotted riding bikes together near Brown’s home in Montecito, California, before heading to the Florida Keys to go jet skiing.
