Kim Kardashian made an unexpected appearance on her daughter North West’s Instagram livestream on Monday night.
“Guys, I think your mom is coming,” West told viewers as the livestream could be heard from a distance.
Shortly after, Kardashian, 45, entered the room and asked West, “Why are you watching my show?” before declaring her mother the GOAT.
“I don’t want to be on camera,” Kardashian said of West’s 1.7 million followers on Instagram, confirming that her statement had her mother’s approval.
“Hey guys,” the SKIMS founder joked, adding that he wished someone could record him calling a 12-year-old a goat.
“I don’t know if something like this will happen again,” she teased.
As Kardashian remained off camera, West told her, “You should just show your face, because, I don’t know, I want money.”
“What?!” Kardashian responded. “No, we don’t ask, no, no, no.”
Kardashian quickly asked North for an explanation, explaining that she thought her daughter was asking for money before even glancing at the comments section.
“Look what these people are saying. I know I don’t like this,” she said.
The reality TV star then asked how long West planned to continue livestreaming, noting that he needed to “remain in the room” for the director.
“Maybe I’ll stop by once in a while,” Kardashian said, waving off-screen.
Looking into the camera’s view, Kardashian added that she would not be participating in the full performance as she was “ready to go to bed.”
The “All’s Fair” actress then encouraged West to tell viewers about his day, adding that it was time for her daughter to “go to bed.”
Last week, Kardashian appeared on her sister Khloe Kardashian’s podcast, Khloe in Wonderland, and spoke candidly about her parenting style and West’s self-expression.
“[North]knew what she wanted from the moment she was born into Bohemian Rhapsody,” Kim said at the time, adding, “I think she did too.”
Kim explained that parenting her older child feels like she’s “growing up with you or figuring everything out with you,” and described this as an opportunity to “learn” and approach parenting differently than she would with her two younger children.
Kim shares daughters North and Chicago, 8, and sons Saint, 10, and son Psalm, 6, with ex-husband Kanye West.
“I have such a great relationship with my kids. They love me and respect me and it’s great,” she added.
Khloe asked if she’s concerned about the scrutiny Kim gets for allowing her daughter to express herself when it comes to North.
The Hulu personality said she is not a “judgmental person” and tries to avoid focusing on external backlash, explaining that people don’t fully understand how her family manages “certain things from the outside world.”
She added that a common misconception about her relationship with North is that she forgives everything because she’s “trying to be my best friend.”
“No, Northie actually has a lot of rules,” Kim clarified.
Kim said he is giving North Korea the freedom to express itself, but “we’re going to do it regardless.”
Kim explained that experimenting with fashion has always been part of her daughter’s personality, referring to North’s colorful hairstyle and recent finger piercings.
“I have a picture of her when we were in first grade, Pre-K, where she’s wearing a fake septum ring and all that, and she’s got green braids and she’s got pink braids,” Kim said. “Ever since she was little, she loved braiding her hair with color.”
“She really is who she is and has always been that girl. So I bring her up,” she added.
